Muhammed Ekin presented a paper at the International Conference on Photovoltaic Science and Technologies (PVCon) in Ankara, TURKEY
Graduate student Mr. Muhammed Ekin presented a paper entitled “Reliability Assessment of Single-phase Module-Integrated Power Electronics Based on the Thermal Modeling of Photovoltaic Modules” at the 2018 International Conference on Photovoltaic Science and Technologies (PVCon) in Ankara, TURKEY / July 4, 2018.
The reliability of power electronics is important for photovoltaic (PV) systems as the cost of failure has a significant effect on the return on investment (ROI). This paper developed a thermal model which was used to calculate the PV module temperature based on measured meteorological parameters specific to the different regions of Turkey. The results of the thermal model are the stress factors that are then used in the electrical and reliability model to calculate the mean time between failures (MTBF) of various candidate module integrated inverters.
Rawdha Ameen presented a paper at the International Conference on Photovoltaic Science and Technologies (PVCon) in Ankara, TURKEY
Undergraduate student Ms. Rawdha Ameen presented a paper entitled “Flexible and Scalable Photovoltaic Curve Tracer” at the 2018 International Conference on Photovoltaic Science and Technologies (PVCon) in Ankara, TURKEY / July 4, 2018.
The reported the results of a project to develop a curve-tracer for use with experimental photovoltaic modules on curved-surfaces. MATLAB was used to control a Keithly SMU connected to multiple PV cells via a switching matrix. The system was able to sequentially take i-v curve measurements to
